Affordable Housing Development Fund (AHDF)

The Dane County Affordable Housing Development Fund (AHDF) was established in 2015. The purpose of the AHDF is to encourage the development of affordable housing throughout Dane County by using the fund as a means to leverage additional resources from project partners.

 

Henry knows we need more housing, and NOW. That is why during the 2025 budget cycle, he worked to secure an additional $10 million for the AHDF plus $10 Million to support the creation of affordable housing and permanently affordable housing for our community.

 

Length of Affordability

Prior to 2025, any housing project funded by the AHDF was only required to remain affordable for 30 years. Following a budget amendment Henry sponsored, that term of affordability was extended an additional 10 years. While not affordability forever, this is a step in the right direction.
